What are the responsibilities and job description for the Power Trading Analyst position at Greenwich Commodities LLC?

Greenwich Commodities is looking for power trading analysts (full-time, internship or part-time).

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree and 2 years’ work experience or an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Data Science or related STEM fields, with a strong background in modeling, research, and quantitative analysis.
  • Self-starter and collaborative, effective working in a small and dynamic team environment
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Experience with MS SQL, VBA and PowerWorld is a plus

Position Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze voluminous data from electricity markets
  • Calibrate electric power models of electricity market fundamentals
  • Utilize analytical expertise, quantitative skills, and programming knowledge to uncover and report on new trading opportunities.
  • Work closely with the energy trading team.

Greenwich Commodities LLC is an investment fund management company in the US with operational bases in Metro Detroit, Michigan, and Metro Denver, Colorado. The company focuses on the Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) trading and Virtual (DART) Trading in wholesale competitive electricity markets throughout the US. We are dedicated to promoting a smart and sustainable energy future by modeling and trading in competitive energy markets, combining quantitative analysis, energy fundamentals, and market intelligence.

Equivalent Hourly Pay: $20.00 - $60.00. This range aims to accommodate various roles within our organization, from internships for undergraduates to full-time positions for individuals with Ph.D. degrees and substantial work experience.

Pay: $20.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
