Job Description
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician Apprentice will assist the maintenance technicians with daily duties by shadowing the technicians and learning the necessary skills required for maintaining process equipment while performing hands-on tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the maintenance technicians with daily duties which may include performing preventive and corrective maintenance as directed by maintenance technicians
- Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Receive, unload, and correctly store parts and supplies in the plant as directed by maintenance technicians
- Participate in plant shift meetings and continuous improvement activities
- Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
- Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Attend job training and other related activities
Qualifications and Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Enrolled in FAME program at Southern Union Community College (Opelika Campus)
Ability to read and write English
Good communication skills, written and oral
Strong computer skills
Mechanical and/or Electrical aptitude
Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
