We are seeking an experienced Lawn Care Technician to grow with our company. We provide a team environment, year-round work, and opportunities for promotion! POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- TURF CARE: Maintain and enhance turf health on customer properties by applying granular fertilizers according to manufacturer guidelines and spot-treating weeds with herbicides. Identify signs of fungal issues and administer appropriate treatments to ensure a healthy lawn.
- INDEPENDENT WORK: Take initiative in planning and organizing your daily route to ensure efficient and timely service. Maintain detailed records of completed work and treatments applied. Exercise problem-solving skills in the field, adapting to weather conditions, unexpected challenges, or customer requests while staying on track with assigned responsibilities.
- CUSTOMER INTERACTION: Educate customers on services that improve their lawn’s health and appearance. Provide clear communication about upcoming treatments, timelines, and new product offerings.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY
- KNOWLEDGE: Consistent work history with prior experience as a Lawn Care Technician, Fertilizer Applicator, or Turf Specialist is required. Minimum of 2 years experience preferred. Existing Applicator Certification or the ability to complete state pesticide training and receive certification within 60 days.
- SKILLS: Self-motivated, dependable, and committed to high-quality service. Ability to work in varying outdoor conditions including heat, rain, and cold in the winter. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to operate walk-behind, and powered spreaders, liquid sprayers, and company vehicles. Utility vehicle equipped with spraying equipment
- ABILITY: This role is onsite and requires reporting to our office in Waterloo, NE. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday 7am - 5pm with weekends as needed. Follow OSHA requirements and wear safety protection including hearing, eye, and respiratory protection. Physically capable of standing, kneeling, and working in various conditions. A valid driver’s license and ability to pass a felony/misdemeanor background and driving (Motor Vehicle Record) check.
