BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY : As a technical e-commerce website manager for a large-scale online store with thousands of products, you will oversee the technical aspects of the e-commerce platform, ensure optimal performance, and drive online sales growth. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, data analysis skills, and strategic thinking.   T he following duties are not intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties required for this position.  The job description is a summary of the major duties and responsibilities.  This role may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be expected to perform additional duties as requested.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Duties, Skills, Responsibilities and Expectations : Platform Management and Optimization Oversee and maintain the e-commerce platform, ensuring seamless functionality across all devices and browsers Partner with Merchandising to implement and manage regular product updates, including the addition of new items and removal of discontinued ones Partner with Marketing to ensure strategic improvements and implement collateral, designs & assets Partner with Marketing, Merchandising, and Sales to develop and execute technical strategies for weekly and monthly pricing changes across the extensive product catalog Conduct regular performance audits to identify and resolve technical issues affecting site speed, user experience, and conversion rates Web Development and Design Collaborate with and guide developers to improve website speed, implement new features, and enhance overall user experience Manage the technical aspects of re-platforming initiatives, including migration to new content management systems (CMS) and ensuring mobile responsiveness This role will lead the implementation of and maintain integrations with other systems such as inventory management, CRM platforms, and payment gateways Conduct quarterly cost analysis for platforms, tools, and best practices Seek the opportunity and develop new tools to enrich the digital experience in an e-commerce retail environment Technical SEO and Analytics Implement and optimize technical SEO strategies to improve organic search performance Analyze various data to deliver data-driven strategies Responsible for GA4 and Tag Manager to utilize web analytics tools to track KPIs, analyze user behavior, and identify areas for technical improvement.  Partner with Marketing & Merchandising for additional visual and assortment improvements Conduct A / B and Multivariant testing to optimize website elements, including page layouts, checkout processes, and product displays Security and Compliance Work with the Security Engineer to maintain and implement robust security measures to protect customer and proprietary information Ensure the website complies with relevant laws, regulations, standards, and company policies, including but not limited to, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI, etc Monitor for security breaches and follow incident response protocols defined in company policy when necessary QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS : 3-5 years of proven experience in managing large-scale e-commerce platforms Proficiency in e-commerce platforms such as BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant web technologies Experience with content management systems (CMS) and their integration with e-commerce platforms Familiarity with database management and SQL Understanding of RESTful APIs and their implementation in e-commerce environments Proficiency in using web analytics tools, particularly Google Analytics Knowledge of technical SEO principles and best practices Experience with version control systems like Git Key Technical Competencies Problem-solving : Ability to quickly identify and resolve complex technical issues affecting website performance Data Analysis : Strong analytical skills to interpret web analytics data and make data-driven decisions Performance Optimization : Expertise in optimizing website speed, user experience, and conversion rates Technical Project Management : Capacity to lead technical projects, including platform migrations and feature implementations Continuous Learning : Commitment to staying updated with the latest e-commerce technologies and best practices      Required Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field ​​​​​​​ By leveraging these technical skills and responsibilities, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and performance of the e-commerce website, driving sales growth, and ensuring a competitive edge in the dynamic world of online retail.
