Human Resources Business Partner

Job Summary

The HR Business Partner will support two/three plants under the direction of the Plant Manager and Manager of HR - Shape/Mold (not located on site). The HR Business Partner will provide professional support to Leaders, Managers, and individual plant contributors. This position is 60% strategic/forward-thinking, 35% administrative and 5% misc.; requires skills beyond administration/managing existing programs.

The position will support 3 different plants and will include travel twice a month.

Responsibilities

• Understand core business objectives and how HR goals link to business priorities.
• Daily point of contact for employees and people managers related to HR policies, procedures and programs.
• Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relation issues, conducts investigations and handles employee relations counseling with related employee population.
• Coordinates the recruiting and staffing initiatives required for the facility, including background checks and pre-employment drug testing in conjunction with the Manager, Talent Acquisition and corporate processes.
• Coordinates new employee orientation/onboarding activities, employee development and training, and associated recordkeeping.
• Coordinates documentation and communication of Worker’s Compensation-related issues with the Director, EHS as well as with state agencies and/or insurance representatives as required or requested.
• Participate in Safety initiatives throughout the plant with leadership.
• Flexible for 24/7 shift meetings for employee engagement and communication meetings.
• Prepare presentations for internal communications. (ie, monthly birthdays and work anniversary for bulletin boards)

Physical Demands

• Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
• Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
