What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skilled CNC Machine Operator position at GSM Metals, Inc?
Fast paced manufacturing company is looking for a skilled CNC Machine Operator.
Required:
- CNC Mill (Haas) operation
- High school or equivalent
Preferred:
- Setup experience on CNC machines with a strong understanding of G-code, work offsets and tooling.
Candidate must be able to:
- Read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Run production on multiple machines as directed.
- Read and Interpret production drawings / blueprints.
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other basic measuring instruments.
- Identify quality issues, troubleshoot, and make offsets or tool changes as needed.
- Learn to set up machines using program notes, work order directions, or verbal instructions.
- Complete daily and preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
- Stand for full shift.
- Bend over frequently to load and unload parts.
- Lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders would be a plus.
Desired Experience Level: 3-5 years minimum operating CNC machinery within a machine shop environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
