About the Role :

As the Network Technician (Level 2) at Gulf South Technology Solutions, you will be responsible for handling more complex technical issues and providing advanced support to our clients. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring a high rate of ticket resolution and customer satisfaction.

The Network Technician is vital to maintaining high levels of client satisfaction by resolving more challenging technical issues efficiently. Your ability to solve complex problems helps reduce downtime for clients, ensuring their business operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver world class customer service, both written and verbal, exemplifying a client-first mindset prioritizing clients success.
  • Provide advanced IT support, resolving hardware, software, servers, printers, switches, firewalls and access points quickly and effectively.
  • Administer and support Active Directory (AD), Group Policies, Microsoft 365, Entra, and other critical systems.
  • Handle tasks such as user onboarding / offboarding, password resets, spam filter management, and remote connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi and network problems to minimize downtime.
  • Accurately log tickets, resolutions, and communications in ticketing system.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation for internal and external use, updating any changes, as needed.
  • Work with vendors, internal teams, and clients to resolve escalated issues.
  • Safeguard sensitive data by following security best practices.
  • Participate in low volume after-hours on-call rotation every 3 weeks, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ticket resolution rate : 95%
  • Average resolution time :
  • Same-day ticket resolution : 70%
  • Documented time entries for work completed : 100%
  • Closed ticket count : 10 / day
  • Requirements :

  • ISC2, ITIL, Microsoft, or CompTIA certification(s) highly preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with multiple clients and multiple environments.
  • Analytical thinking to diagnose and resolve technical challenges quickly, with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Results-oriented self-starter who thrives independently while maintaining focus and momentum.
  • 5 years of IT experience, including use of ticketing system.
  • Knowledge of basic TCP / IP routing concepts for SMB networks.
  • Knowledge of DNS Management, including creating / editing A, MX, and CNAME records
  • Knowledge of backup methodologies, hardware, and best practices
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and best practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 desktop operating systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 licensing, applications, and administration including Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Entra.
  • Advanced knowledge of Server 2016, 2022, and 2025 operating systems, including Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows DNS & DHCP.
  • Advanced knowledge of WAN and VPN links / remote access technologies and experience with configuration and implementation.
  • Maintain professional appearance.
  • Ability to lift / carry 30 lbs. or more.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Bonus :

  • Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience
  • Experience with Autotask, Datto RMM, IT Glue
  • Experience with Autodesk, Bentley, Bluebeam
