The Gulfport – Biloxi International Airport (GPT) is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Operations Supervisor, under the direction of the Operations Manager. The Operations Supervisor manages airside and landside activities, ensuring safety, security, and compliance with applicable regulations. GPT is a joint use airport centrally located two miles from the beach on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Gulfport, Mississippi between Mobile, Alabama and New Orleans, Louisiana. The airport is approximately two miles from Interstate 10, and two miles from the Port of Gulfport and the Gulf of Mexico. Completion of 4-year degree in Airport or Business Management, or other related field is required. Additional experience including but not limited to a pilot’s license, internship at a 139 Airport, and additional training/certifications will be considered.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Daily airside, landside and terminal inspections
- Responsible for inspections, documentation, follow up, and close out of discrepancies at fueling locations
- Issues work orders & coordinates necessary maintenance
- Maintains and implements the Airport’s Natural Disaster Plan & Wildlife Management Plan
- Coordinating airport construction, special events, and emergency response
- Issues NOTAMs
- Responds to safety, security, and other matters including aircraft alerts
- Active participation in and planning of Triennial Disaster Drill
- Conducts security and driver’s training and issues ID Media
- Ensures compliance with purchasing laws while soliciting bids/quotes and development of contracts for small construction projects/large purchases
- Implements and updates ACM, AEP, ASP, WHMP, SWPPP
- Participates in yearly FAA Part 139 Certification Inspection
- Regularly interacts with general public, community leaders, governmental officials, military personnel, airport executive staff, and Board of Commissioners
