SUMMARY
The Engineer is expected to perform highly skilled maintenance and repair for the property, including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service
- Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operation
- Personally, demonstrates a commitment to guest service in responding promptly to guests’ needs
- Meets or exceeds guest satisfaction measures
- Ensures hotel standards and services contribute to the delivery of consistent guest service
- Implements and practices guest service initiatives and performs to Gulph Creek Hotel Standards
Engineer Duties
Perform maintenance and repair work on the interior and exterior of buildings, hotel rooms and contents, laundry and kitchen / refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating / air conditioning ventilation, and water treatment systems.Perform preventive maintenance as outlined in the Preventative Maintenance Program.Follow procedures that ensure the security of inventory.Ensure that room maintenance requests are handled in a prompt and courteous manner.Participate and perform inspections on a regular basis of working orders and checks adjust repairs and monitor the building system.Be the point of contact for various vendors and state / county inspectionsTest safety systems, e.g. emergency lighting and record keeping and assist with periodic inspection of all safety systems.Follow up on all alarms immediately to determine the exact location and cause. Determine emergency status and repair projects.Replace parts / supplies and authorize the purchase of new parts and supplies.Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Gulph Creek Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.Ensuring that the rooms and property are maintained in the best possible condition, with the least inconvenience to guests.Report emergencies or threats to the security of guests, employees, or hotel assets.Report any hazardous situations, malfunctioning to external signs, or unlit areas.Comply at all times with Gulph Creek standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.Other duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
2 years experience in general building maintenance and / or construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.This is an on-call position and must be available to work nights, weekends, and / or holidays.Must have good communication and customer service skills.Advanced vocational training is a plus.Professional certification and license if required by law.LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to read and speak English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memosAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employeesAbility to effectively communicate with employees, guests, and supervisors for optimum operation of the propertyAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphsDemonstrated engineering skillsREASONING ABILITY
Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Refrigeration, electrical, plumbing skills, boiler operation, and maintenance skills, water treatment, and chiller operation knowledge.Must have a valid driver’s license.PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT :
