Summary
Accounting controller for the company. Work with the Chief Financial Officer, COO, and upper management to produce accurate and timely financial statements. Establish, monitor and enforce internal controls applicable to fabrication [job cost] - environment. Engage operating departments to understand financial results.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Administer all company accounting functions (financial reporting, budgeting & forecasting, job cost accounting, treasury management, and control testing & monitoring)
* Train and develop accounting staff
* Deliver information in support external financial statement reviews
* Special projects requiring data collection, analysis, and decision-making or support
* Financial Reporting / Controls
a) Establish and maintain company financial policies and procedures consistent with government regulations, generally accepted accounting principles, risk and management concerns
b) Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory authorities including timely report filings
c) Report and communicate clear, accurate and timely results of the operations to department managers and Company management monthly and quarterly
d) Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
* Cost Accounting
a) Maintain policies for the company to consistently, timely and accurately account for inventory valuation and project costs
b) Direct the collection, reporting, and analysis of project labor, material, and overhead costs
c) Maintain policies and procedures to ensure accurate period cut-offs for inventory valuation and expense recognition
* Treasury Management
a) Direct management of treasury functions with an effective control environment
b) Cash forecasting and monitoring
* Vendor Payment & Customer Invoice Management
a) Direct management of vendor set-up & maintenance, electronic & check payments and accounts payable management for vendors
b) Direct management of customer set-up & maintenance, invoicing, collection and payment applications
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
* Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA or CMA preferred
* 7 years of experience with increasing responsibilities
* Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong knowledge of Excel; Teams; SharePoint
*Experience in working with ERP systems; ViewPoint / Vista experience preferred
