Associate Food Scientist

** Must be able to work a hybrid schedule of 4 days in office/1 remote; may be 5 days in the office when projects are busy

** Looking for someone with 2-3 years of experience

** Previous food science and/or chemical engineering experience

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· As a part of the ingredient research team, gathers information on new and novel ingredients, studies ingredient interactions and functionalities

· Conducts bench-top experiments, formula calculations, and develops prototypes for product tastings and sensory testing across a variety of KDP brands and products

· Interprets test results, writes technical reports, and effectively communicates information within the organization

· Fully understands R&D functions and project management process to lead projects

· Partners with various functions of R&D (Sensory, Nutrition, Regulatory, Flavor Technology, Chemistry, Process Engineering, and Technical Services)

· Manages multiples projects and delivers updates on projects within the business to key stakeholders and cross-functional peers

· Maintains accurate and detailed record of laboratory work

· Work appropriately and safely in a laboratory environment

· Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing business needs and priorities

· Use formulation software to document lab work and formulas.

REQUIREMENTS:

· B.S. in Food Science or Chemical Engineering

· Minimum 2 years of experience in a related function within food/beverage (R&D, Quality), CPG, and/or commensurate advanced education

· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

· Excellent written and presentation skills

· Works independent, excels in team-based culture, and collaborates

· Skilled in problem solving, with a growth mindset

Job Type: Contract

Pay: Up to $38.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
