Job Overview:
The Automotive Service Advisor serves as the facilitator of communication between customers and automotive technicians. They are responsible for understanding customers' automotive service needs, recommending appropriate services, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction throughout the service process. This role requires strong communication skills, automotive knowledge, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Communication: Interact with customers to understand their automotive service requirements and concerns. Provide clear explanations of recommended services, timelines, and cost estimates.
- Service Recommendations: Utilize knowledge of automotive systems and maintenance schedules to recommend appropriate services and repairs based on customers' needs and vehicle specifications.
- Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate service appointments based on availability, urgency, and customer preferences. Ensure efficient allocation of technician resources.
- Order Processing: Create and maintain accurate service orders detailing requested services, parts needed, labor costs, and estimated completion times.
- Customer Satisfaction: Strive to exceed customer expectations by providing exceptional service experiences. Address any concerns or issues promptly and professionally to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Communication: Maintain accurate records of service transactions, customer interactions, and vehicle histories using shop software.
- Technical Knowledge: Stay informed about automotive industry trends, service procedures, and new vehicle technologies to effectively advise customers and address inquiries.
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a service advisor
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in automotive service advising, customer service, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer software systems and basic mathematical calculations.
- Tekmetric experience is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of automotive systems, maintenance procedures, and service intervals.
