What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Support Technician position at Gw Electric (shanghai) Co. Ltd?
Reporting to the IT Service Desk Lead, the IT Support Technician will join a team that is the first point of contact for all local and remote users at G&W Electric. They will provide technical support, advice, and assistance for requests as well as diagnose/troubleshoot hardware and software-related issues. Additionally, the IT Support Technician will work on IT projects as they relate to company priorities. This role is on site in our Bolingbrook location.
As an IT Support Technician you will:
Support local and remote users via IT service desk ticketing system
Provide user access and support to hardware including:
Desktop and laptop computers
PC peripherals – monitors, keyboards, mice, and other accessories
Desk phones, mobile phones, and headsets
Printers
Barcode scanners
Perform PC software installation and support
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with network connectivity
Support conference room audio and video equipment
Set up and configure new computers
Set up/remove user accounts on systems (network, email, phone, security, etc.)
Maintain (patches, updates, and fixes) software used on desktop systems including OS, anti-virus, and malware protection
Track and update IT inventory
Work with vendors to help resolve technical issues
Perform miscellaneous related duties and other duties as assigned
Participate in IT-related projects
We are looking for someone with:
An Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
Experience installing and supporting desktop operating systems including Windows 10 and 11
Experience installing and supporting desktop applications including Microsoft Office 365 and Teams
Experience identifying/remediating virus and malware infections
Knowledge of computer hardware components
Knowledge of Windows Active Directory services including Domain, Group Policy, and AD Objects
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively and independently on assigned duties
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work well with all levels of employees
Ideally you will also have:
2+ years of experience as IT Service Desk Technician
Experience using the ServiceNow ticketing system
CompTIA A+ Certification
Experience in a manufacturing environment
What we offer you:
Typical pay is $49,710 – 60,900 annually.
