Overview:

GW Lisk Island Components division designs and manufactures an array of motion control products including but not limited to Motors, Actuators, Brakes, Clutches and Controllers.

The Program Manager (PM) is a professional who is responsible for overseeing and coordinating multiple related projects within the organization to achieve business goals. The PM is responsible and accountable in managing budgets, timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication, while ensuring all projects align with the overall program objectives and are delivered on time and within scope. The PM will also manage a group of project managers and provided leadership and coaching to project managers and project engineers who are managing their own projects.

The Program Manager should have the ability to work on multiple projects and demonstrate proficient project management and supervision skills in a dynamic result-oriented environment. He/She should also have excellent organizational, time management, and decision-making skills. Effective communications skills are required to be successful when working with the project team and management including; customers, project managers, chief engineers, project engineers, technical manufacturing staff, and quality personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in prospective project activities including assisting the Regional Sales Managers with project proposals, RFPs, preliminary budgets, and schedules as needed.
  • Oversee project initiation activities including ensuring that a Project Charter with all relevant items has been created and signed off on.
  • Ensure that the priority of each project’s resources, timelines, and constraints, is understood by all stakeholders, as determined by senior management.
  • Perform project planning including adopting and tailoring all organizational project procedures to suit each project. This would include planning and developing key project documents such as schedules, budgets, project organization charts, communication management plans, and labor and non-labor resource plans.
  • Ability to realistically forecast milestone dates through effective critical path scheduling techniques, including tracking actual data and controlling against baseline.
  • Lead the project team towards successful completion of all phase/gate deliverables and represent the project at cross-functional team gate reviews.
  • Assist in the acquisition of project personnel as required.
  • Ensure that all customer requirements are documented and understood by the project team.
  • Anticipate, identify, document and manage any risk to the project’s objectives.
  • Oversee project execution including reporting project status to key stakeholders, handling issues as they arise, and taking corrective action as needed.
  • Ensure that any changes, which may influence project objectives, are handled effectively by the change control system.
  • Track work progress of the project team and verify that deliverables are meeting quality requirements. Update the schedule and budget with project progress on a periodic basis and report any issues to management in an expeditious manner.
  • Manage functional responsibilities of the assigned project team members.
  • Use project requirement documents to project plan for new design development projects.
  • Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned projects.
  • Responsible for product P & L.
  • Participate in prospective project activities including assisting the Regional Sales Managers with project proposals, RFPs, preliminary budgets, and schedules as needed.
  • Utilize good analytical and troubleshooting principles for problem solving. Utilization of Six Sigma and continuous improvement.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in engineering, product development, or technical discipline, Masters degree preferred
  • Three (3) years in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of five (10) years managing program, preferably in a product development environment
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with scheduling software, preferably Microsoft Project
  • Effective communication and soft skills including written and presentation skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Ability to motivate and engage teams
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities with experience effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • PMP certification desired

Requirements for Sr. Level:

  • Bachelors degree, Masters Degree preferred
  • 10 years Program Management experience leading significant development programs
  • Full product portfolio oversight
  • Direct Management of Project Coordinators and/or Project Managers
  • PMP certification

Highly Desired:

  • Familiarity with a variety of fabrication and assembly process methods; machining, plating, winding, molding, forging, casting, welding
  • Experience in Space and/or Aerospace markets
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO


Compensation: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 annual base salary based on experience
