Department Bio
The GW Student Employment team in the Center for Career Services manages the recruiting, onboarding, hiring, and position management for nearly 4,500 student employees each year. We also strive to provide excellent customer services, web-based resources, and training opportunities for our student employees and employers. In addition, the team oversees the FWS program and a robust off-campus FWS program with approximately 30 community non-profit and federal partners.
Position Specific Summary
Students will work on teams devoted to Recruiting & Onboarding (R&O) and Hiring & Data (H&D) to support student employee recruitment, onboarding, and hiring efforts by :
- Completing I-9's with student employees (R&O),
- Completing weekly data management reviews (R&D, H&D),
- Processing data entry for hires and termination (H&D),
- Assisting in recruiting and onboarding documentation review (R&O),
- Assisting in the of the off-campus FWS program (H&D),
- And provide customer assistance to student employees and hiring departments (R&O, H&D).
Anticipated position begin dates : (H&D) April 1st, 2025 / (R&O) May 12, 2025
Standard Position Description
The student will the assist department or organization in human resources / people operation activities. Tasks may include : assisting in the management of aspects of the employee life cycle including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, time reporting, training and development, or off-boarding efforts, inputting and auditing employee data, and providing customer assistance and coaching to employees, hiring managers, and supervisors. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific office needs.

Some applicable educational, technical, or professional experience required, some training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate student with incredible customer service skills, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, ability to multitask, aptitude for learning new technology and following standard procedures, and ability to uphold employment regulations and policies. Ability to work 25-30 hours per week.
