Job Description:
We are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join our client´s Infrastructure & Operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering systems infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud, with a strong focus on VMware cloud solutions. The role requires hands-on support for various Microsoft servers and virtualized environments, including MS SQL, MS SharePoint, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support systems infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud, including VMware cloud solutions.
- Support domain controllers/Active Directory, physical and virtual servers, database servers, high-performance storage solutions, and VMware infrastructure.
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot complex environments involving Windows, Active Directory, MS SQL, and VMware.
- Lead and manage systems and infrastructure projects, including virtualization initiatives.
- Provide 24/7 support for existing server infrastructure as part of a team rotation.
- Assist with network architecture and operations.
- Continuously monitor systems to ensure operational efficiency and resolve inefficiencies in Windows, Active Directory, and VMware environments.
- Collaborate with managers to define and meet system needs.
- Train and mentor junior Systems Engineers.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in systems administration.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology, specifically with network technologies and related network tools.
- Expert-level knowledge in Active Directory (Windows 2012–2022), DNS, Group Policy, AD troubleshooting, AD security, and other key Active Directory services.
- Proficiency in VMware technologies, backup technologies, and systems administration in virtualized environments.
- Experience with network architecture, TCP/IP, and various network services.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in Microsoft-based environments, including MS SQL and VMware.
- Ability to manage complex systems and infrastructure projects effectively.
Preferred Skills:
- GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) experience.
- Experience with manufacturing systems such as SCADA, DCS, BAS, and PI Historian.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Additional Skills:
- Expertise in change management, system administration, and IT support.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience with service desk and technical support operations.
