What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Auditor position at H. J. Russell & Company?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure that audits are completed free of mathematical or procedural errors. Complete audits reflecting the following: 1 - Audit entries are correct and legible with back-up tapes attached. 2 - Reports, tapes, receipts and supporting paperwork organized for simple review of work.
- Audit, balance and report of room charges, phone calls, movies charges, adjustments, taxes, disputed charges, deposits etc.
- Ensure that guest transactions will satisfy performance standards for front desk agents. Follow all sequence of service guidelines according to the manual and job description. Complete all audit reports, daily receipts, tapes, and supporting documentation and file chronologically.
- Follow proper procedures for dealing with guest illness or injury, system failures, fire alarms, robbery, security incidents and other emergencies are described accurately and/or followed if they occur.
- Offer observations and assistance to management and operating departments, which improve the efficiency of the audit.
- Anticipate late night check-ins and check-outs and do not allow lack of immediate access to automated systems to inconvenience guests. Present a positive image of the Hotel to all guests and be knowledgeable of all hotel service to provide an exceptional experience for guests
- Manages daily paperwork including occupancy report; guest list; cash drawer summary; balance sheet; account summary; history file; and housekeeping report.
- Promptly and effectively deals with guest requests and complaints.
- Ensuring the highest occupancy and ADR is achieved each night .
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

- Monitors room availability
- May be required to make management decisions in manager's absence

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Familiarity with cashiering techniques and procedures.
Front Office knowledge, including check-in/check-out procedures.
Ability to act as liaison between Security, Front Desk, and the other departments within the hotel.
