What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter position at H&P Technologies, Inc.?
H & P Technologies, Inc. is a Michigan based distributor and repair service center. We are seeking an Industrial Painter. As a Painter, you'll prepare, coat and finish metal and/or other surfaces by operating conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other types of services. This position will also include some general shop maintenance duties.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare materials, surfaces and structures for coverage with paint.
- Operate conventional and airless equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other types of surfaces.
- Mask and cover surfaces not to be painted.
- Tag and/or stencil painted tools and equipment.
- Palletize, band and/or package tools and equipment, and stage for delivery.
- Maintain and organize inventory of paint and related supplies.
- Observe all safety rules and procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance on paint booth (including cleaning booth and performing filter changes).
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform general shop maintenance, including sweeping and operating walk-behind floor scrubber.
- Perform occasional grounds maintenance, such as removing snow near building entrances and spreading salt.
Background & Experience:
- Must be able to use pneumatic surface preparation tools (such as sanders and grinders).
- Must be able to use a paint spray gun.
- Must be committed to quality and ensuring that product leaves our facility in a professional and attractive appearance.
- Detail-oriented when applying paper and masking tape to protect unpainted surfaces.
- Must be able to operate a forklift.
- Ability to adhere to stringent safety requirements and customers’ work rules.
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Other Requirements:
- High school or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 50-100 lbs.
- Ability to stand or walk most of the day.
- Ability to twist, climb, squat, turn, stoop and bend.
- Ability to reach above shoulders.
- Ability to grip/grasp and use vibratory tools.
