Summary
The Director of Finance is responsible for the financial reporting and accounting services within the Hotel Swexan and its related entities. They are responsible for producing and evaluating the hotel’s financial operating reports, providing daily supervision to the Hotel accounting team, and they ensure goals and objectives are met in a high quality and timely manner.
Job Functions
- Manage accounting processes to ensure optimal results with appropriate internal control safeguards
- Coordinate workflow to utilize staff efficiently while streamlining processes.
- Oversee Accounting group to include A/P, A/R, intercompany accounting, job cost/TI accounting, cash management, check-writing software, and processing.
- Review and prepare all financial statements for Harwood’s hotel.
- Review daily cash position.
- Prepare weekly check selection based on cash forecast and payment urgency for weekly cash meeting with Vice President, Finance.
- Create appropriate financial and operating reports and analysis to identify efficiency and profitability enhancement opportunities and effectively communicate results of operations
- Prepare annual hotel department and venue budgets, and/or quarterly forecasts, as applicable.
- Review and serve as payroll back-up.
- Coordinate all year-end financial data for audits/tax return preparation.

Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or hospitality finance/operations.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Hospitality industry accounting/finance with a focus on Luxury or Ultra-Luxury hotel properties
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting with a strong emphasis on analysis and reconciliation.
- Knowledge of internal control processes
- Works effectively in a team environment through collaboration and partnership.
- Ability to meet and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Education & Experience
- MRI experience strongly preferred.
- experience with UKG/UltiPro strongly preferred.
