Supplier Quality Engineer $29.00 - $39.00/ Hr.

Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE) are responsible for coordinating suppliers and verifying quality standards in accordance with requirements of the organization. SQE’s drive root cause analysis of vendor issues, lead containment and corrective action efforts, and communicate updates to internal and external parties. Monitor repeat issues and confirm countermeasures are robust. Support ISO audits by performing internal audits and updating business processes and flow charts were appropriate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop long-term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction tasks.
Aid Manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials and parts.
Support supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase supplier capability of consistently meeting Haas requirements. Projects may include: process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput, Six Sigma, 5S, and Kaizen events.
Analyze and effectively resolve manufacturing and assembly related problems.
Maintain established supplier rating system, initiating corrective action for non-compliance and reporting on cause.
Perform random audit of work instructions, process control sheets, and test procedures. Initiates cause and corrective action and reports the results.
Analyze cause and corrective action activities exposed through audits and reviews accomplished. Report on trends and results monthly.
Drive corrective actions for Field Failures with a sense of urgency and teamwork.
Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
Verify the implementation of solutions.

Minimum Qualifications
Proficient in utilizing all department software, including CAD programs, Office products, SAP, and specialized software (GageTrak, Q-Plus).
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, work well with a diverse group of people, and be able to function independently of direct supervision.
0-5% travel required.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of various quality system methodologies: 8D, 5 Why’s, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, etc.
Education
Bachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA from a four-year college or university is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations in English. Mathematical Skills
Must have an advanced understanding of mathematical concepts including but not limited to probability, statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, and/or calculus.
