What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Community Engagement position at Habitat for Humanity of Knox County Ohio?
The Director of Community Engagement is responsible for the affiliate’s work with the community in Knox County. This includes planning, coordinating, and executing a plan that includes volunteer coordination, homebuyer management, coalition building, and community mobilization that lead to helping the organization achieve its goals.
Principal Areas of Responsibility (90% of time requirement)
Community Engagement
- Work with community leaders, public officials & local initiatives to promote the organization’s mission and goals
- Seek opportunities to leverage new and existing partnerships to expand the mission of the organization
- Represents HFHKCO in community initiatives and events that support our brand goals/strategies and engage key constituents
- Develop new communitypartners to help assist HFHKCO in the completion of its goals & objectives
Analysis & Planning
- Managesthecreation of an overall strategic plan for community engagement, including raising awareness about the organization and developing engaging pathways for the community
Marketing & Communication
- Cultivates and maintains favorable media relations
- Contributes to social media presence for affiliate
- Contribute to website
Volunteer Development
- Strengthen the volunteer development program
- Increasing awareness of Habitat in the broader community and growing the overall number of volunteers.
Home Buyer Management
- Work with the HomeownerSelection Committee to ensure future home buyers are meeting goals.
- Be a liaisonfor future home buyers to ensure they have the resources to meet their goals
Other Area of Responsibility (10% of Time Requirement)
- Marketing material design
- Social media design/posting
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director
Qualifications
2 year degree or relevant experience, experience in non-profit volunteer coordination is a plus
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Effective leadership and team building skills
Flexibility to adapt to a changing work environment
Ability to work with diverse groups Integrity, organization and attention to detail; as well as, ability to work independently and multi-task
Strong Communication Skills in individual and group settings
Excellent Technology Skills, knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office a plus

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
