Description

The Public Funding Project Manager is an essential part of the Public Funding Team within Homeowner Services that creates permanently affordable home ownership opportunities in King and Kittitas Counties. The Public Funding Project Manager will be responsible for securing and managing the funding for Habitat’s real estate development projects in alignment with our core values to lead with service, respect all people, build community, and deliver results. The funding sources will include City, State and Federal funders, and Banks. The Public Funding Project Manager will project manage the full funding lifecycle, from funding application through contracting, draw submittal, and compliance management through completion. They will manage regular reporting and assist with funding applications as needed. The Public Funding Project Manager will report to the Sr. Public Funding Manager. This position is in-person at the Renton Habitat offices.

 

Essential Functions

  • Support application submissions for affordable housing development and repairs projects, including working the team to gather all information necessary, writing the narrative, gathering necessary attachments, and submitting applications.
  • Manage a funding calendar that contains timeline and deliverables for completion of public funding applications.
  • Identify new funding sources for affordable housing development projects.
  • Project manage grant reporting and compliance, working with other in-house departments to ensure timely complete submission of periodic and annual reports.
  • Partner with affiliate General Counsel to ensure timely grant contracting.
  • Serve as main point-of-contact to assigned funders, ensuring project compliance through all phases of the project and contract completion.
  • Partner with Finance team to ensure grant payment requests are complete, submitted, and funded on schedule.
  • Support with project financial model updates as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Education, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelors Degree in related field preferred
  • 3 or more years’ experience in grant management, or real estate finance.
  • Experience writing grant or funding applications for large projects with a track record of success.

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of grant writing.
  • Knowledge of funding and financing for affordable housing and real estate development preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Proficiency in creation of presentations in PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with development project proformas preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite preferred.

Language Skills:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a group of managers, customers, and the general public.

Math Skills: Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:  Define problems, collect, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Distinguishes between relevant and irrelevant information to make logical decisions. Provides solutions to individual and company problems. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.

Computer Skills: Proficiency with computer usage, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

 

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Must be at least 18 and have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

• Extensive keyboarding is required. Sit/work at a computer/laptop for extended periods of time.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate consisting of usual business office sounds including but not limited to computers, printers, telephones, and light foot traffic.
