Vice President, U.S. Municipal Finance - Transaction Review Job SummaryWhat is the Opportunity?Municipal Finance is part of the Global Investment Banking division within RBC Capital Markets. Municipal Finance offers investment banking and municipal advisory services primarily to municipalities and not-for-profit organizations in the United States. Municipal Finance is headquartered in New York with over 330 banking and sales professionals in 27 offices across 16 states.The successful candidate will be part of the Transaction Review Group (TRG) of the Municipal Finance Department. The TRG was created to enhance adherence with rules and regulations and aid in risk management for the Municipal Finance practice. As a member of TRG, the role will provide service to and assist bankers and their staff through the transaction review function, which is a centralized review process for every transaction, agreement, and revenue event in the Department.Job DescriptionWhat will you do?Conduct transaction reviews including performing a financial analysis of the credit, evaluate due diligence procedures, and ascertain the quality of the offering document.Maintain the Regulatory Org Chart for the department, including tracking securities licensing, facilitating the ordering of study materials and opening test windows for employees.Assist bankers in responding to requests for proposals.Coordinate the Municipal Markets Review Committee, including scheduling of the meeting, receipt of the submission packages, and preparation of meeting minutes.Assist with reviewing, obtaining approvals, and maintaining records for advertisements and speaking engagements.Provide back-up support in sending TRG approval notices and posting issues to the Bond Calendar.Assist with regulatory inquiries and investigations as necessary.Promote department understanding and enforce compliance with policies and procedures including new employee training.Participate in department-wide initiatives (e.g., regulatory change, procedure modification, technology) as necessary.Perform other job related duties as assigned.Proactively identify regulatory, legal and policy issues in financings for the business.Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities.Escalate concerns that you identify to your manager on a timely basis.What do you need to succeed?Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree preferable in finance or business related fields5 to 10 years of experience, preferably in municipal securities or related industriesSecurities licenses – SIE, Series 50, 52, 79 and 63Ability to initiate independent analysis and self-imposed goals / deadlinesHighly organized and attentive to detailAbility to collaborate in a congenial work environmentWhat’s in it for you?
