What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long-term Substitute Social Emotional Learning Interventionist position at Hajjar Elementary School?
This is a grant funded position and is available until approximately April 17, 2025 The position is for 6 hours per day (30 hours per week) and the hourly rate of pay is $28.00.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
Social Emotional Learning Interventionists for elementary school assist students with accessing academic learning by providing strategic services that identify and address the social-emotional-environmental issues that interfere with the educational process. The Elementary SEL Interventionist implements strategies that promote students' positive school adjustment and that enhance students’ social emotional development.
JOB DUTIES:
Identifies social emotional challenges of individual students through analysis of factors.
Determines and implements appropriate SEL strategies to effect changes in behavioral-social interactions of students.
Collaborates with staff in implementing SEL strategies to promote student learning.
Responds to students in crisis situations.
Conducts social skills groups and individualized SEL support as needed.
Participate in building-based meetings as needed.
Maintain the confidentiality of schools, classrooms, teachers, and students
Perform other duties and responsibilities related to SEL as assigned.
Communicate with parents/guardians, as needed
Collect and analyze data, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated experience supporting students with SEL needs, including students who have experienced trauma
Strong and effective communication skills
Ability to build strong positive relationships
Ability to foster positive learning environment
