The Marketing and Communications Intern will assist in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing efforts. This role includes covering the swim and dive team's Instagram and assisting the marketing and communications team with the new pool renovation communication campaign. The intern will also cover club events to generate engaging content for the website, email campaigns, and social media platforms. Additionally, the intern will provide photography and videography support for various departments to promote events and enhance the club’s online presence.
Responsibilities
Social Media & Content Creation
- Capture high-quality photographs and videos of swim and dive team activities, club events, youth activities, recreational classes, golf clinics, and new menu rollouts for Hallbrook restaurants for social media, website, and email campaigns.
- Create engaging visual content (photos and short videos) that align with Hallbrook's brand aesthetic and resonate with the target audience.
- Assist in planning and executing content calendars for social media platforms, focusing on the swim and dive team's Instagram.
- Photograph club events, athletics, dining experiences, staff, and landscape shots as needed.
- Shoot and edit short video content for social media, focusing on capturing the essence of club events and activities.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to brainstorm and execute creative visual concepts.
- Meet with relevant staff to plan photography and videography sessions, ensuring alignment with marketing objectives.
- Cover club events to generate engaging content for various digital platforms, enhancing the club's online presence.
- Interact with members during events and photography sessions to capture authentic moments and stories.
- Upload and organize images in the Club's photo albums, ensuring proper metadata input for easy retrieval.
- Maintain photography and videography equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
- Archive and manage digital assets effectively.
- Assist with other marketing and communications tasks as assigned by the team.
Technical Proficiency
- Proficient in photography and videography, with a strong understanding of composition, lighting, and storytelling.
- Intermediate knowledge of using editing software such as Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere for photo and video editing is a preferred.
- Previous use and knowledge of Canva is a plus.
- Understanding of social media platforms and keeping up to date on best practices for content creation and engagement.
- Ability to create visually appealing content that aligns with brand guidelines and marketing objectives.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the marketing team and other staff.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively once initial training is completed with the Digital Marketing Manager.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including days, nights, and weekends, as required for events and activities up to 20 hours a week.
- Reliable and punctual attendance is essential.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 80% of the shift) while capturing photos and videos.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds of equipment.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and turn as needed for photography and videography tasks.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Potential for prolonged exposure to sunlight during outdoor events and activities.
