Project Manager
Job Description:
A Project Manager provides leadership and manages the operational and financial aspects of construction projects and is the primary liaison with the client’s project management team. This position is expected to report to and support the lead project manager in completing all tasks associated with signed contracts, from paperwork through full project completion. This will include on- and off-site tasks for various projects. An enforcer of process utilization, safety, and risk management; and is a cultural manager by ensuring that the company’s fundamental values and beliefs are followed and maintained.
Primary Tasks
- Prepare closing documents for the Sales Team
- Create Customers and Jobs in ComputerEase
- Schedule & conduct site evaluations
- Coordinate with EC & Engineering representatives as appropriate
- Complete Interconnection Applications
- Client signatures
- Retain appropriate Engineering services & provide them with all project info
- One-line diagrams
- Stringing plan
- Site Layout
- Site photos
- Equipment Specs
- Interconnection Method
- Apply for necessary permits, arrange payment, and retrieve the documents from AHJ zoning office
- Hold weekly meetings with ECs to discuss project updates and scheduling
- Prepare Subcontractor Agreements and POs for the ECs for each job
- Update customers weekly and as requested on job status
- Prepare list of job materials for ordering
- Schedule time to go to the job site while EC is working on layout
- Prepare client monitoring profile
- Commission the system (on site)
- Keep Smartsheet, Labor Estimation Sheet, etc up to date
- Prepare signatures on interim waves of utility interconnection paperwork for sales team to gather
- Schedule and conduct a post-install wrap meeting with the client
- Regularly scheduled inventory management
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Clear communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Computer skills a must
- Preferred: 3-5 years of field experience in solar or electrical work
- Analyze every step of the fulfillment process to optimize efficiency
- Form an integral and foundational part of a positive and ambitious team culture
- Proficient in or ability to learn to use of the following technologies: smart phone with hot spot, mobile apps, Windows 11, and Microsoft Office Programs, SmartSheet, SolarEdge Designer, Helioscope, GIS Maps, Enphase Enlighten, BlueBeam, ComputerEase, and various other portals/design tools for all of the manufacturers we use
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to travel to anywhere in Illinois
- Travel 25-40% of job within specified territory plus daily to company headquarters, milage reimbursement available
Physical Requirements:
- Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time
- Hear, talk, and listen
- See details of objects three feet away.
- See color to discern color coding.
- Visual acuity to read plans, inspect equipment, and identify potential safety hazards
- Manual dexterity to use various hand tools and operate computer equipment
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by job sites
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
- Ability to carry, set up, and climb a ladder up to 2 stories tall
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base Salary: $50,000-$95,000 (commensurate with experience)
