Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Project Engineer to join our team in Western Montana. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the execution of complex construction projects. This position involves a mix of field and office-based responsibilities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform material quantity takeoffs for ordering, purchasing, and estimating.
- Schedule various crew activities and manage subcontractors.
- Maintain comprehensive records, including costs, progress, materials, and equipment.
- Enforce and implement safety protocols across project sites.
- Produce project reports, including traffic control, erosion control, and pollution control.
- Investigate and resolve engineering-related issues using practical and theoretical engineering principles.
- Generate field drawings and calculate elevations, stations, and offsets from contract plans.
- Assist with basic surveying tasks to establish lines and elevations in the field.
- Manage the shop drawing and submittal process, including communication with owners/agencies.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and field foremen to ensure project success.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of field operations with the ability to handle complex projects.
- A results-driven attitude with a commitment to delivering tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, P6, and Viewpoint is a plus.
- Ability to access all points of a construction site in various climates and environments.
- Valid driver’s license.
- This is a Safety Sensitive Position; a drug screen is required.
