What are We Looking For?

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned construction professional to join a forward-thinking team and play a pivotal role in the execution of a landmark $180 million infrastructure project in Florida. This high-profile design-build project for FDOT will significantly enhance the region's infrastructure, and as part of the project team, on behalf of a renowned civil engineering general contractor, are currently seeking a driven and experienced leader to oversee field operations and ensure project success.

About the Role:

The Project Superintendent will serve as the on-site, roll up the sleeves, hands on leader, responsible for the comprehensive day-to-day management of all field activities. This individual will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to maintain rigorous schedules, enforce stringent safety protocols, and deliver exceptional quality. Their expertise in roadway construction, paving, earthworks, and utilities will be critical to navigating the complexities of this large-scale project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide decisive on-site leadership and direction for all field operations.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring strict adherence to project plans and specifications.
• Develop and maintain meticulous project schedules, proactively identifying and mitigating potential delays.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, cultivating a safe and productive work environment.
• Oversee rigorous quality control measures to guarantee that all work meets or exceeds project standards.
• Collaborate effectively with regional leadership to resolve issues efficiently and maintain transparent communication.
• Maintain accurate and detailed project records, including daily reports, progress updates, and change orders.
• Contribute significantly to the overall success of the project by proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and cost savings.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 10-12 years of demonstrable experience as a Superintendent in heavy civil construction, with a specific focus on roadway, paving, earthworks, and utilities.
• A proven track record of successfully managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience working on design-build projects is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation) standards and specifications is a significant advantage; experience with other DOTs will also be considered.
• Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency 1 in relevant project management software and tools.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Competitive base salary of $140,000 - $150,000 per year.
• Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, car/gas card and excellent bonus plan.
