What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long-term Substitute School Counselor/School Social Worker position at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School?
HWRHS is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic school counselor/school social worker to join the school counseling team in a long term substitute position during a maternity leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct management of our high school students, will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage group/individual counseling where needed, and work with students to help them make effective academic and personal decisions.
This duration of this position is immediate through June 18, 2025.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide group and/or short-term personal counseling to students.
Provide crisis intervention for students, staff and/or parents as needed.
Serve as a liaison between students and teaching faculty as the need arises.
Serve as a contributing member of the Care/Student Support Team.
Serve as a contact to social service agencies working with students and their families.
Facilitate the mediation, conflict resolution and intervention process with staff and students.
Maintain and provide counseling for a caseload of students as assigned by the Director of School Counseling/Secondary Special Education Coordinator.
Work closely with the HS school counseling team to support all students in the academic and social-emotional setting
