Job purpose:
Assists the principal by providing support for the effective operation of Hammond Creek Middle School so that quality instruction takes place every day. Duties will include working at the principal's discretion on all aspects of school operations from communication with parents and staff, scheduling for instruction, assessing results, planning for professional development, implementation of Title I plans, maintaining safety plans, and assisting with evaluation of all staff.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Direct and control student behavior and discipline, counseling students regarding acceptable school conduct and recommend appropriate action to be taken when necessary.
2. Coordinate instruction and lead professional learning communities within assigned departments.
3. Direct activities of staff and students to ensure a safe, orderly and smoothly functioning environment.
4. Collaborate with administrative team on creating a master schedule.
5. Collaborate with the Principal to supervise and evaluate teachers and non-certified staff.
6. Assist the Principal in the development of the annual and Title I budgets.
7. Implement student achievement improvement efforts including school improvement plans, standardized testing, remediation, data analysis, and enrichment.
8. Collaborate with district administration regarding instructional methods, materials, strategies, and programs.
9. Meet and work with other administrators and staff to foster a collaborative team approach in leading the school.
10. Any other duties as assigned by the High School Principal.
11. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Qualifications:
The minimum qualification for this position is possession of, or eligibility for, the appropriate certification as required by the state of Georgia and previous building administration expereince. Work Calendar:
This position works a 215-day calendar. Salary based on administrative salary scale.
