Hourly Wage:  $24.07
 
Storeroom clerk will perform a variety of inventory control and warehouse functions to support maintenance operations.  This position is responsible for receiving, maintaining, and issuing materials and supplies in the storeroom as well as other activities as directed.
 
Essential Job Functions:
(Duties listed are neither intended to be all inclusive nor to limit duties that might reasonably be assigned.)
 
Technical:
  • Order material and supplies.
  • Receive parts, materials and supplies verifying quality and quantity for acceptance.
  • Prepare and ships packages. Containerize and crate material to be shipped.
  • Unpack, inventory, and stock items in their proper locations within the storeroom or maintenance facility.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the storeroom and tool room.
  • Monitor service contractors.
  • Secure price comparisons on items to be procured and works closely with the buyer.
  • Unload supplies from delivery trucks as needed.
  • Transport parcels between the operating divisions and vendors as needed.
  • Research part numbers and description in parts manual.
  • Inventory fuels and lubricants daily, and place fuel orders as needed.
  • Participate in annual assessment of physical inventory.  Conduct cyclical inventories.
  • Mark identifying codes, figures or letters on articles.
  • Distribute stock among workers as needed, records material issued, and inputs work order information in the computer.
  • Maintain tool room and administers tool room procedures including issuing and receipt of tools.
  • Operate a forktruck.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Administrative/Teamwork:
  • Interact effectively, courteously, and professionally with operations department employees and other HRT employees regarding vehicle repairs and other shop business.
  • Assume primary responsibility of assigned projects.
  • Train other HRT employees in the safe and efficient performance of warehouse operations.
  • Maintain files on manufacturer’s part numbers.
  • Manage records created and received in compliance with the HRT’s Records Management Policy and Procedures.
  • Enter and update storeroom information in electronic database including receipts and parts received, ordered, and issued.
  • Responsible for the administration of material reclaim procedures and material warranty recovery and disposition.
  • Identify and process items to be reordered.
  • Generate computerized reports.
  • Prepare and file requisitions, quotes, and various storeroom documents.
OSHA/Safety/Environmental:
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with HRT/OSHA standards.
  • Maintain awareness and compliance with all current HRT, local, state, and federal regulations, such as regulations governing the handling and disposal of hazardous waste and use of personal protection equipment.
Required Software Knowledge and Skills essential to Job Functions:
Proficiency in using computer systems and the listed software applications associated with performance of assigned work is essential.  Basic problem-solving skills associated with software applications used is expected.   Software usage relevant to job duties will be evaluated.
 
Software applications:
Ability to learn specialized computerized maintenance management systems
 
Training and/or Education:
High school diploma/GED required.
 
Required Experience:
Must have general inventory control, shipping and receiving experience. Customer service experience and proficiency with computer literacy and basic mathematical computation required.
 
Licenses or Certificates:
Possess a valid Driver's License.  Acquire a Virginia Driver's License within 60 days after the date of hire (in instances when an out of state license is not the applicant's current state of residence).
 
Special Requirements:
  • Must pass HRT’s written and technical skills assessment(s) with a minimum 70% score for each segment to be considered for employment in the position.
  • This position is classified as essential personnel.
  • Written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able interpret and carry out verbal and written assignments.

Physical Demands:
