Hanaway Ross, an esteemed law firm based in Green Bay, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team of knowledgeable and experienced attorneys. As a leading law firm practicing in various areas of law, including but not limited to, Corporate Law, Family Law, Litigation, Probate and Estate Planning, we are committed to providing exceptional legal services to our clients.
To accommodate the firm’s growing caseload and client base, we are looking to add a Part Time Paralegal or Legal Assistant with Insurance or Personal Injury experience to our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, including drafting legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings.
- Conduct legal research and analysis using various resources such as online databases, legal libraries, and other sources to support case strategy and preparation.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all relevant documents and information are accurately recorded and easily accessible.
- Coordinate client meetings, court appearances, and other appointments, managing attorney calendars efficiently.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal proceedings professionally and courteously.
- Assist in trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, witness lists, and other materials necessary for court proceedings.
- Review and summarize deposition transcripts, court documents, and other legal records as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards of the legal profession.
- Provide administrative support to attorneys as needed, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and managing office correspondence.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the firm's practice areas and assist attorneys in staying informed about legal developments.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in paralegal studies or a related field.
- Previous experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm setting preferred.
- Strong proficiency in legal research and writing, with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases, experience in Practice Master preferred, but not required.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Wisconsin state laws and court procedures preferred.
- Certification as a paralegal is a plus.
