Due to the continued growth and expansion of our business, Hanford Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Manager of Nonsterile Operations. The Manufacturing Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the production processes to ensure efficiency, compliance, and quality pharmaceutical manufacturing. This position requires strong leadership skills to motivate and guide the production teams, a chemistry background and strategic thinking to enhance production processes, reduce costs, and meet quality standards. The Manager is a key figure in maintaining our pharmaceutical manufacturing operations at the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Duties associated with this position include:
Manage production schedules per staffing guidelines; ensure production goals are met; monitor and track production metrics including Variance, Yields, Days Lost, Product/Labor ratio; review and modify controlled documents including SOPs, variances, batch production, control records, OOT/OOS, QC alerts and notices, corrective action requests and investigative reports as needed; ensure batch documentation is accurate and completed in a timely manner; ensuring documentation is processed timely and accurately; ensure personnel are performing competently and in compliance with company policies, SOPs, and cGMPs; ensure adherence to safety protocols; conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary action as needed; maintain positive employee relationships across all business units; participate in internal and external audits by government agencies, customers, and internal Quality Assurance personnel; works with internal and external entities to complete repairs and improvements on plant facilities, systems, machines and equipment; works with outside contractors and follows up on contracts as needed; may be required to carry an electronic device for 24-hour call in.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of contemporary pharmaceutical and manufacturing practices and procedures.
- Knowledge and skill in using computer software, including spreadsheet, word processing, and database.
- Skill in efficient manufacturing techniques, process improvement, production scheduling, material, and supply chain management.
- Skill in problem solving and an analytical thought process.
- Skill in business writing including investigative reports and summaries.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers, management team members, and other individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Education Requirements: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in science or equivalent with Chemistry and Quality Assurance background or certification. 5 years of work experience in Science/Pharma/Manufacturing/QA field, with at least 3-5 years of management experience.
