Hanover Foils is currently looking to fill a position for a full-time machine operator in its Ashland, VA manufacturing facility.
Hanover Foils provides foil conversion services to customers both domestically and abroad ranging from pharmaceutical and confectionary packaging to construction and industrial products. Position Details
Role Summary: The press operator is responsible for the safe and productive operation of various foil converting equipment and machinery.
Essential Job Functions:
- Work safely at all times
- Inspect incoming raw material for suitability
- Exercise standard procedures for the day-to-day operation, set up, changeover, cleanup, and shutdown of multiple machines and related equipment
- Mix, prepare, and adjust inks and coatings to formula for use on coating lines
- Quickly identify, troubleshoot, and correct issues during production
- Maintain neat and accurate production records for traceability and production reporting
- Perform lab testing and quality control using company procedures and standards
- Minimize production downtime and report all unplanned downtime to supervisor
- Work constantly towards developing a safer and more efficient process
Position Qualifications
Requirements:
- Organized with an attention to detail
- Basic computer competency (Email, Microsoft Office, files and folders navigation, etc.)
- Experience with basic mechanic’s tools (wrenches, drivers, hammers, prybars, etc.)
- Willingness to work evening and night shifts
- Ability to work within a team
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
Suggested Qualifications:
- Packaging or related manufacturing experience, especially working with foils or films.
- Forklift experience
- Machine operating experience
- General manufacturing experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
