Job Responsibilities:
- Collect and process biological specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) according to established procedures.
- Prepare samples for analysis, ensuring proper labeling and documentation for clinical research studies.
- Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests, including hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, and immunology.
- Operate laboratory instruments, including analyzers and microscopes, to perform tests and analyze results.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of test results, observations, and procedures in compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., Good Clinical Practice, GLP, and GxP).
- Perform regular calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Ensure strict adherence to laboratory protocols, quality control, and safety standards.
- Participate in internal and external audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the research team, including principal investigators, study coordinators, and clinical trial managers, to ensure the successful execution of research protocols.
- Communicate test results and relevant findings in a clear and timely manner to laboratory supervisors and study teams.
- Monitor inventory levels of laboratory reagents, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist in ordering and maintaining necessary laboratory materials.
- Ensure all laboratory documentation is complete, accurate, and in compliance with industry standards.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in laboratory techniques and clinical research methodologies.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to improve knowledge and skills in laboratory practices and clinical research.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) through a recognized body (e.g., ASCP, AMT) is preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory or clinical research setting is desirable.
