Job Summary
Harbar LLC is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Marketing to lead our marketing team and drive the growth of our brands and product portfolio. This newly established role is responsible for maximizing brand potential and developing effective marketing strategies.
Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a key member of the executive team, the Marketing Director will oversee a small in-house team while collaborating with external agencies and freelance partners. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a strong blend of creative and analytical skills, strategic vision, and an entrepreneurial mindset. This role requires exceptional leadership, project management, and attention to detail to execute impactful marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies development for each Harbar brand across retail and food service segments including changes to the brand portfolio
- Utilize brand positioning and market, competitor, and consumer insights to effectively differentiate the brands and increase consumer relevance.
- Provide direction to market research efforts to identify opportunities and risks that should inform brands’ strategy and marketing priorities
- Oversee goal planning and tracking (i.e., budgets/projects) for B2B, consumer and retail/consumer activation plans (including Shopper marketing, merchandising, event marketing, etc.)
- Facilitate creative direction and development of each brand ID according to the brands’ strategy and evolution in landscape
- Establish, implement, and oversee an effective product management (and innovation) process for all brands/products in coordination with R&D, brand managers and channel/account managers
- Collaborate with sales teams to provide strategic clarity around pricing and assortment priorities and tactical support to each of the channel initiatives.
- Provide strategic support to Key Account Management priorities
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team.
- Identify, recruit and manage freelancers and other agencies/vendors required to achieve marketing goals
- Attend trade events and account management presentations as company representative
- Contribute to general business strategy development and company initiatives planning
Skills/Requirements:
- Ability to drive marketing/brand strategies and to align priorities and plans at the tactical level
- Ability to understand complex marketing opportunities and challenges, design conceptual solutions and drive efforts to its implementation
- Effective and professional communication skills in oral, written settings as well as in multi-media presentations in both English and Spanish
- Ability to multi-task, manage a portfolio of priorities, time management skills
- Demonstrated initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
- Ability to work both independently and as part of multifunctional teams
- Demonstrated success leading, delegating, supporting, and empowering teams
- Ability to provide direction & motivation to creative teams and individuals
Other requirements:
- 10 years in CPG brand management or marketing management, with demonstrated success leading brand, product, and marketing efforts to drive growth.
- Experience in working within multi-brand and multi segment environments
- Canton, Massachusetts based (relocation support available)
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree desirable.
- Experience in directing a wide range of marketing efforts including market research, packaging development, website development, digital/social, , etc.
- Proven mastery of relevant business concepts (category arguments, margins, trend analysis, etc.)
- High proficiency in the use of Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint as well as in the use of Syndicated data such as IRI, Nielsen and Spins
- Flexibility to travel 20% of time
- Experience and passion for food industry
- High degree of familiarity with Mexican foods category
- Spanish – English bilingual language skills
