Early Childhood Program Director

Harbor Montessori School – Gig Harbor, WA (with travel to satellite campuses)Position Start Date: 2025–2026 Academic Year (July 2025) - This is a full time, on-site, 12 month position.

Harbor Montessori School (HMS) is seeking an experienced and compassionate Early Childhood Program Director for the 2025–2026 academic year.

HMS operates across three campuses in Pierce and Kitsap counties. This position will be based at our Gig Harbor campus 3–4 days per week, with travel to our other campuses 1–2 days per week. All campuses offer well-equipped classrooms, small class sizes, and a supportive, joyful team of educators.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Faculty and staff mentoring and oversight
• Family relations
• Professional development and curriculum coordination
• Student support
• Ensure the Early Childhood program meets AMS and NWAIS accreditation standards
• Ensure the Early Childhood program follows DCYF requirements

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of five years full-time Montessori classroom experience at the Early Childhood level
• Strong understanding of Montessori education and child development in the first plane
• Excellent organizational and relational skills
• Collaborative, detail-oriented, and mission-aligned

EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a record of ongoing professional development
• AMS or AMI Montessori Early Childhood Credential
• Ten or more hours of documented professional development per year
• Washington State Teacher Certification (preferred)

The salary range at Harbor Montessori school is $79,000-$89,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
