What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Auditor (Year Round-Part Time: 3 Nights/week) position at HARBOR VIEW HOTEL?
Shift time 11pm - 7am: Three nights per week, set schedule but choice of nights.
Summary:
The Night Auditor is responsible for performing the daily income audit and reconciliation while serving as the hotel's guest service representative during the overnight shift of the hotel. The role includes processing accounts payable vendor invoices as well as numerous administrative and ad hoc reporting functions to support hotel operations. This position has a dual reporting line to both the Finance Department (which has oversight to the accounting/audit functions) and Front Office Management (which oversees the standards of guest services and front desk shift procedures).
Essential Job Functions and Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide Excellent Guest Service
- Assist guests with late check-in, early a.m. departures
- Handle service requests as appropriate for all in-house guests
- Answer phones
- Handle direct reservations/cancellations for guests calling hotel
- Collect guest payments for deposits and departures
- Complete tasks on Front Desk Check List for overnight shift
Income Audit
- Process End of Day procedures and run applicable reports from the PMS and POS systems
- Perform reconciliation of settlements and revenues between POS and PMS
- Reconcile end of shift reports/batches from outlets
- Update daily revenue report in M3
- Distribute Daily Revenue Report
Ad Hoc Reporting
- Room Rate Report
- Gift Certificate Log
- Comp Check Log
- Other reports, as assigned
Qualifications Required:
- Exceptional guest service / hospitality skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize work and ask for clarification when needed
- Strong integrity and work ethic
- At least two years’ experience in hospitality
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to take initiative and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work productively with other associates as part of a team
- Legal ability to work in the U.S.
Qualifications Desired:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 to 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel
- Work independently
- Multitask efficiently
- High attention to details
- Able to enter accurate financial /numerical data
- Analytical and critical problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel, accounting software
