The Role
As the Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial operations within this fast-paced, creative environment. Reporting to the CFO, you will work closely with the senior leadership team to drive financial performance, manage budgets, and streamline financial processes. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for the creative industries who enjoys making data-driven decisions and providing strategic financial insight.
- Financial Planning & Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the agency's overall business objectives. Provide regular financial updates and strategic guidance to the senior leadership team.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and manage quarterly forecasting to ensure financial targets are met. Review and refine financial projections based on business developments.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial reports for senior executives, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses. Provide actionable insights to drive business decisions.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor the agency's cash flow and working capital to ensure liquidity for operations and investments. Proactively identify opportunities to optimize cash management.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure the agency complies with all financial regulations and standards. Identify financial risks and work to mitigate them in collaboration with the leadership team.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work alongside various departments to identify growth opportunities and cost-saving measures. Support the business development team with financial analysis for new initiatives.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a growing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Required:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Passion for Creativity: A deep interest in the creative sector and an understanding of how financial strategies impact campaign success.
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical skills in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to both financial and non-financial teams.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a finance team, fostering a growth-oriented mindset.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with accounting software and financial systems commonly used in creative agencies (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms).
- Previous experience in the creative industries (e.g., PR, media, marketing, advertising, TV & film, or music).
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: $90,000–$120,000 (commensurate with experience) bonus benefits
- Location: New York City (Hybrid model)
