Finance Operations Intern Overview:
Precinct 4 Forward Internship Program (P4FIP), is an 9-week paid summer internship for students with a passion for serving others.
We’ve designed our program to expose students to career opportunities with Harris County and apply what they have learned in the classroom to hands-on projects. P4FIP provides students the chance to bridge the gap between academic understanding and practical professional experience. Students from all schools, and students who identify with a group that is historically underrepresented, including but not limited to Black, Hispanic, Native American, students with disabilities, and veterans are encouraged to apply.
Interns will create a community to help support their personal and professional development throughout the summer as they launch their career. Interns will work with a mentor, form relationships with other interns, and engage our Senior Leadership Team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Divison with end-of-month financial reports, balance sheets, and audits.
- Assist with other administrative tasks including, research, data entry, and filing.
- Perform other duties that may be added or changed as the course and scope of the job directs.

Internship Requirements:
Minimum of two years of college completed from an accredited four-year college or university in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Proficiency in Microsoft software applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Share Point.
- Basic knowledge of financial and accounting principles.
- Good organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Strong skills using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
