What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Coordinator position at Harris County?
Harris County Precinct 3 is seeking qualified, exceptional candidates for the role of Project Coordinator to design and draft infrastructure improvements including roadside drainage, traffic safety improvements, site plans for park and infrastructure improvements, and maps as required.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for producing illustrations, pictures, drawings, schematics, exhibits, maps, etc. with minimal supervision. Deliverables shall be completed timely and accurately based upon agreed upon deadline.
Responsible for assisting with the assigning and tracking of work assignments of the Precinct sign shop as well as assisting in developing an asset database.
Responsible for maintaining a professional and courteous rapport with the general public and peers.
Other duties may be assigned.
Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent and
Four (4) years of drafting & design experience
OR
Completion of an AutoCAD technology course and
Two (2) years of drafting & design experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, design, and surveying principles.
Ability to communicate well with the public as well as project teams and have a and compatible personality.
Must be comfortable with multitasking and working on multiple projects.
Employee may be required to work overtime as needed
Must work in all types of weather and physical conditions.
- Must assume the physical risks of working near traffic and construction equipment.

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
A regular full-time position, requiring the employee to work 40 hours per week.
This may include weekends and holidays.

The employee is also responsible for getting to the job site when no longer possible by vehicle, by walking carrying equipment over sometimes rough terrain, through occasional water-filled ditches and gullies.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
