Position Overview:
Hartford Athletic is seeking passionate and qualified Academy Coaches to develop young players within our youth development system. These positions are responsible for implementing the club's coaching philosophy and curriculum while fostering player development in line with Hartford Athletic's professional pathway. Academy Coaches will report to the Academy Director.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Coaching & Development:
- Implements age-appropriate training sessions following club curriculum and methodology
- Plans, organizes, and conducts team training sessions 2-3 times per week
- Coaches games on weekends and manages team during tournaments
- Creates individual development plans for each player
- Provides bi-annual player evaluations and feedback
- Maintains detailed session plans and player progress reports
- Implements club's style of play and tactical approach
- Identifies and develops talented players for potential progression to higher levels
Administrative:
- Maintains accurate attendance records for all training sessions and games
- Communicates regularly with parent managers regarding schedules, expectations, and player progress
- Attends weekly coaching staff meetings and continuing education sessions
- Assists in player recruitment and talent identification
- Participates in tryouts and player selection processes
- Submits bi- weekly reports on team and individual player development
- Maintains coaching licenses and pursues ongoing education
Program Support:
- Participates in club events and community outreach programs
- Assists with academy camps and clinics during school breaks
- Supports college recruitment process for older age groups
- Contributes to curriculum development and program improvement
- Maintains positive relationships with local youth clubs and schools
- Supports marketing and recruitment initiatives for the academy
Essential Skills, Experience & Abilities:
- USSF C License or equivalent (UEFA B License preferred)
- 3 years of youth coaching experience at the competitive level
- Playing experience at collegiate level or higher preferred
- Strong understanding of long-term player development principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with young players and their parents
- Strong technical and tactical knowledge of soccer
- Proficient in session planning and player evaluation
- Experience with video analysis and performance-tracking software
- First Aid and CPR certification required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to demonstrate soccer techniques and skills
- Stand/walk for extended periods during training and games
- Work in various weather conditions
- Ability to move and set up training equipment
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
Work Schedule:
- Primary working hours are afternoons/evenings (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM)
- Weekend availability required for games and tournaments
- Additional hours required for meetings, and events
- Seasonal camps and clinics during school breaks
