Position Summary: Hartford Athletic is seeking a highly motivated, energetic and talented individual to become a mascot performer. The ideal candidate has experience performing as a mascot as a preferred but not required background; possesses excellent non-verbal and verbal communication skills, is athletically and physically fit, and has a creative and humorous personality.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent GED degree.
· Minimum 2 or more years’ experience as a mascot at the collegiate, minor or professional league level preferred but not required.
· Good interpersonal skills (especially with children).
· Good with spontaneous crowd-interaction.
· Ability to dance (professional dance training a plus).
· Athletic
· Acting experience a plus
· Performer training a plus
· Must be reliable and punctual
· Strong non-verbal communication skills
· Organization skills
· Ability to handle the extreme physical stress of mascot performance.
Essential Job Functions
· Perform as mascot at Hartford Athletic Home Games and Events
· Enhance Hartford Athletic Game Presentation experience (develop, create and execute new performances and skits)
· Spontaneous crowd interaction during games and at events.
· Perform as mascot at Hartford Athletic season ticket holder, sponsor and community events/programs, sponsor appearances as well as other “community events” as deemed important to the organization (150-200 per year).
· Responsible for maintaining the costume, wardrobe, props, etc.
· Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays
· Other duties as assigned

- Physical demands:
While performing duties of job, the employee will be constantly in costume, move about the stadium during events to interact and entertain clients/fans, and may work in excessive heat or cold under stressful physical conditions.
- Work environment:
The duties of this position are performed indoors and outdoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud to during events and minimal during non-events.
