Hartford Funding is seeking a dynamic Home Mortgage Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding prospective homebuyers through the mortgage process—from initial inquiry to closing—ensuring a seamless, supportive, and compliant experience. You will leverage your industry expertise and excellent communication skills to build relationships, assess borrower needs, and provide customized mortgage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Consultation: Meet with prospective homebuyers to understand their financial situation, homeownership goals, and mortgage needs.
- Loan Program Education: Explain various mortgage products, rates, and loan programs, helping clients select the best option for their circumstances.
- Application Assistance: Assist clients with completing mortgage applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all required documentation.
- Credit & Financial Analysis: Evaluate borrower financial profiles, including credit history, income verification, and debt-to-income ratios, to determine eligibility for home mortgage products.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with real estate agents, financial institutions, and other referral partners to generate leads and drive business growth.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all mortgage transactions comply with regulatory guidelines and company policies; manage and update loan files and documentation in a timely manner.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client questions, concerns, and updates throughout the mortgage process, from application to closing.
- Market Insights: Stay current on market trends, interest rate changes, and mortgage industry developments to provide informed advice to clients.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in residential mortgage lending, preferably as a Mortgage Advisor, Loan Officer, or similar role.
- Licensing: Valid mortgage loan originator (MLO) license is required.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and financial analysis.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex mortgage concepts to clients.
- Relationship Building: Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, real estate agents, and financial partners.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple client files and deadlines simultaneously.
- Customer Focus: Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service throughout the mortgage process.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency with mortgage origination software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
