Full-Time Faculty Position in Business Administration and Coordinator of the Sport Management Major

Rank : Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track, PhD) or Professor of Practice (Non-Tenure-Track, M.S. or M.A.)

Disciplinary Area :   The Department of Business Administration and Accounting at Hartwick College seeks to fill a faculty position that will include the responsibility to serve as the Coordinator of Hartwick’s new Sport Management major. This is a leadership and program-building opportunity. The department invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track, renewable Professor of Practice starting in August 2025, pending final administrative approval.

Qualifications for the Assistant Professor position (Tenure-Track) :

PhD in Business or a related field by time of appointment, with preference given to those with teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

Qualifications for the Professor of Practice position(Non-Tenure-Track, renewable full-time) : Master’s degree in Business, Sport Management, or a related field by time of appointment, with preference given to those with teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

Specific teaching assignments will include Sport Management, Sport Marketing, Introduction to Business, and Sport Management specific electives. Teaching load will average 20 semester credit hours or their equivalent per academic year, and all faculty members teach during the College’s distinctive four-week January Term with potential for a Florida sports focused J Term travel course.

The successful candidate must be committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching with an excitement for growing a new major. Tenure-track faculty are expected to actively engage in scholarly or creative activities. Committee service, including campus wide and departmental governance, and academic advising are expected for re-appointment, tenure, and promotion.

Salary Range : $70,000-73,000 for 9 month position
