CNC Programmer Job Description
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer specializing in 5-axis milling to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have strong programming expertise, the ability to create detailed setup sheets, and the flexibility to assist in machine operations when needed. This role involves collaborating closely with engineering and production teams to ensure efficient project execution and support manufacturing processes from planning through production.
Key Responsibilities
CNC Programming:
· Develop and optimize CNC programs for precision parts, with a focus on 5-axis milling operations.
· Analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to create effective machining strategies.
· Ensure programming accuracy to maintain high quality and adherence to specifications.
Setup and Machine Operation Support:
· Create comprehensive setup sheets and documentation to guide machine operators.
· Provide assistance with machine setup and operation during peak production periods or on complex jobs.
· Conduct test runs to ensure accuracy and address any issues that arise.
Project Estimation and Planning:
· Estimate programming times, machine times, and materials required to complete projects efficiently.
· Develop basic work plans to align with project timelines and production needs.
Engineering Collaboration:
· Act as a liaison between engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure clear communication and alignment on technical requirements.
· Assist engineering teams in creating models, assemblies, fixtures, and tooling for production.
· Offer feedback on part manufacturability, tooling needs, and opportunities for process improvement.
Process Improvement:
· Evaluate current machining processes to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and quality.
· Recommend and implement updates to programming and machining techniques as needed.
Required Skills & Education:
· High School Diploma.
· Certification and/or coursework in CNC Machining (preferred).
· Certification and/or coursework in CNC Programming (preferred).
Experience:
· A minimum of 10 years of CNC Programming experience, including 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling.
· At least 3 years of experience with CNC Programming using NX for milling operations (3-, 4-, and 5-axis).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
