WHAT OUR POSITION OFFERS TO YOU

As a Project Architect, you will be the key person to collaborate with our clients and other members of the firm including planners, designers, and interior designers to bring a vision to reality.  You will lead the efforts to complete all phases of design documents from schematic through construction documents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for architecture and an extensive knowledge of exterior and interior construction details.  You will have the opportunity for advancement and promotion within the firm as demonstrated by the longevity of our associates.

WHAT YOUR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE

• Lead the architectural design and production team from pre-design through to project completion, including participating during construction administration
• Participate, engage, and communicate with clients and consultants throughout the project
• Review code requirements, accessibility compliance and local zoning restrictions
• Direct the development and coordination of building systems and details
• Assist with preparation of specifications and project documents
• Prepare addenda and supplemental drawings to support bidding and construction
• Perform and assist with firm’s QA/QC activities for all architectural elements
• Review shop drawings, material samples, and construction documents for conformance with design
• Conduct and document field observations to monitor progress of construction

LEADERSHIP AND ADVANCEMENT

• Ability to manage and adjust to a project’s variety of design decisions in a timely manner
• Perform all duties in conformance with architectural professional code of ethics and standards
• Manage one or more project team members
• Serve as a mentor to junior staff and intern architects
• Participate in production meetings to develop office and BIM standards
• Assist in business development and marketing efforts for specific projects and clients
• Represent Hastings Chivetta in the community and at civic events
• Responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable practices
• Develop personally and professionally to continue to advance in your career

ABOUT YOUR PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

• Advanced knowledge of construction methodology, material selection and application, and architectural building systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit/BIM required
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Participate as a team leader and work in a team environment
• Proficiency in building codes and ability to research and incorporate into construction documents
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
• Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Adobe Suite and Sketch Up
• Experience managing multiple projects and effectively meeting deadlines and schedules
• Ability to travel 2-4 days per month, as needed

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited program
• 7 plus years’ experience working on mid- to large-scale projects preferred
• Architectural registration with current license required
• NCARB registration preferred
• LEED credential required within 6 months of employment
