Job Description
Mechanical drafters prepare layouts that show the details for a wide variety of machinery and mechanical tools and devices, such as medical equipment. These layouts indicate dimensions, fastening methods, and other requirements needed for assembly. Mechanical drafters sometimes create production molds.
Mechanical Drafter
Pay Rate : $60 000-67 000
Key Responsibilities :
- Create detailed 3D models and drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies using SolidWorks (experience with Fusion 360 or Inventor is also acceptable)
- Assign materials, part numbers, and hardware in the models, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Work closely with the engineering team to implement design changes and maintain a detailed change log
- Assist with prototype assembly, including creating exploded views to document assembly steps
- Work independently on small projects as needed, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills
