Position Summary:
Performs various ultrasound procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice of a ultrasound technologist.
Reports to: Director of Medical Imaging
FLSA: Non-exempt
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of a Program in Discipline- required
Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology program.
Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.
Registry: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer R.D.M.S. within 1 year of hire in:
Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), OB (OB), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
OR
A.R.R.T. - Ultrasound within 1 year of hire.
Two years work experience in hospital setting (clinical rotation is not applicable) in sonography or radiology preferred.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
