What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Hawkeye Hotels?
Essential Duties
1. Practices customer service behaviors, such as listening, initiative, responsiveness, cheerfulness,
accommodation, courtesy, honesty and professionalism
2. Demonstrates effective communication skills and helps ensure optimum communication betweenall
shifts, departments and management
3. Makes decisions in the best interests of the property and in compliance with all applicable policies and
procedures
4. Approaches all encounters with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner
5. Remains alert of complaints and/or unsatisfied guests and responds appropriately to ensureguest
satisfaction
6. Occasionally assists to oversee the functionality and safety of the facility, including the physical buildings,
mechanical equipment, electrical system/s, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems and grounds
in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations
7. Conducts walkthroughs and visually inspects quality of work, as directed. Directs team and outside
contractors in tasks according to performance and productivity standards
8. Assists in directing general construction and the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical,
mechanical and architectural systems throughout the facility to ensure operational efficiency and
safety
9. Assists in assigning, verifying and documenting the completion of all routine maintenance and repairs in
the property maintenance management system
10. Assists in the execution of capital projects and property rehabilitations
11. Abides by all policies and guidelines of Hawkeye Hotels and thebrand
12. Attends and participates in staff meetings, safety meetings, training classes,etc
13. Performs all other duties assigned

- Knowledge/Experience
o High School Diploma or equivalent
o Qualified in facility maintenance and management
o Previous supervisory experience is required
o Recognized certifications in regard to maintenance is desirable
- Availability
o Must be able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

o Ability to read, write, and speak professionally in English

o Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers,

to requests.
